By Emily Schloss September 7, 2018

For families with older children interested in the arts, check out the Stifel Fine Arts Center’s newest presentation Convergence: Art in the Digital Age.

It’s a fascinating digital art exhibition that just opened this week in Wheeling celebrating the use of computers to bring imaginations to life. Regional artists’ pieces include manipulated photographs, 3D installations, video, 3D printer creations and digital imagery. All sure to give your budding artists inspiration!

It’s free of charge to visit through October 26.

Another Oglebay Institute presentation this month is Towngate’s The Diary of Anne Frank, Sept. 21-23 and 28-29. The Pullitzer Prize-winning memoirs of a young Jewish girl are depicted through this play by Albert Hackett and Frances Goodrich. The girl was forced to hide in an attic for nearly two years to escape Nazi persecution. Towngate’s production, directed by Dave Henderson, opens the community theater’s 50thseason.

Parental Notes: It’s a late curtain at 8 p.m., also the content is for those older children who have an understanding of this dark period of history. There is a 3 p.m. matinee Sunday, Sept. 23.

Ticket prices are $12.50 ($11 for Oglebay Institute members). Purchase online here or call 304-242-7700.
