Day Trip: Mark Twain Family Fun Day Aug. 4

Annual event celebrates old-fashioned family fun

BLUE ROCK, OH – The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) will be holding its Annual Mark Twain Family Fun Day at Blue Rock State Park on Saturday, Aug 4. This family-friendly event runs 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Open to the public, this free event features old-fashioned family fun including a log-splitting and pie eating contests, sack races and water battles. Participants will be able to win prizes and enjoy freshly made refreshments such as kettle corn.

The event offers several educational booths from public and private organizations like ODNR’s Division of Wildlife, Ohio Trapper Association, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and GT Environmental. Demonstrations from local arts and crafts vendors will also be available.
