Visit the Farmers’ Gateway Market at EGCC in Steubenville Wednesday, July 11 for a chef event and OSUE Master Gardeners' informational session.
The Jefferson County Farm Bureau will be hosting the chef event, featuring Chef Andy Davis from Bad Axe BBQ. Delicious samples and $3 market coupon giveaways will be featured at the cooking demonstration for the first 100 people to visit!
Also, on July 11, OSUE Master Gardeners are scheduled to return with educational materials and information on Companion Planting and Fairy Gardens. The group is sure to answer all your gardening questions!
Support local area producers by visiting the market Wednesdays 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Eastern Gateway Community College parking lot through Oct. 12.
Vendors who frequent the market include (vendors and offerings vary each market day):
- Ashs’ Redbird Farm with beans, lettuce, red and green onions, rhubarb, peas, peppers, heritage red rasberries, jams in pineapple-jalapeno and strawberry-rhubarb, spicy chocolate covered pretzels and pecans, and possibly even a few cucumbers.
- Sophia’s Kitchen with very fresh artisan breads (rosemary, kalamata olive and plain), pepperoni rolls, banana bread, chocolate chip cookies, baklava, finikia, wedding cookies, pizzelles and koulourakia.
- Spring Valley Stock Farms with frozen cuts of beef, lamb and pork, as well as freshly baked breads.

- Douglas Cooke with yellow cherry tomatoes, Green Dragon burpless cucumbers (big), homemade no pectin added peach and blackberry lime jam, and lots of plant starts (including several varieties of tomatoes, peppers, tomatillos, melons, and herbs).
- Heaven Scent Candles with their home-made soy candles (including a few new scents). They also plan to introduce their new handmade natural soaps as well.
- Tia’s Tinctures with home-made vanilla, loose leaf tea, and flavored simple syrups in chocolate mint, lavender, mint, blueberry, blueberry-mint and rosemary.
