Geology Rocks at Summer Reading Program

Schrader Center presents traveling geology program

By Emily Schloss May 24, 2018

Fossils are a kid favorite and the Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County has partnered with the Oglebay Institute's Schrader Environmental Educational Center to bring a quality geology program to your local branch this summer. The free program will take place Monday, June 18 and Thursday, June 21.

The program, designed for ages five and older, allows your child to look at and touch the fossils that give us clues to the past. Interactive games titled "Rock Cycle Ruckus" and "Metamorphosis Master" will have them rocking and rolling on their quest to learn geology this summer, as they identify the different types of rocks.

Geology Rocks will be presented at the the following branch locations:

Monday, June 18Schiappa Branch - 11a.m.Toronto Branch - 2 p.m.
Thursday, June 21Adena Branch - 12 p.m.Brilliant Branch - 3 p.m.
