A Quick Note From Your Publisher

By Emily Schloss April 10, 2018

There are a lot of dates to save for upcoming family-friendly events in our area! Take a look-ahead in our Macaroni Kid calendar so you can be sure to register for upcoming events of interest. In my article, “An Afternoon with Frontier Dan,” I give you all the details to get your children registered for 18th century frontiersmen discovery next month.

Explore a summer camp option Saturday with a tour of Camp Aldersgate in Carrollton, Ohio, during its Open House.

This week has something for everyone. Read my Beaver Local Soccer article for details on the upcoming indoor soccer clinic this weekend.

Check out the events calendar for ideas with your teen (Paint a Rock at Schiappa Library), older kids (Beauty and the Beast musical at Jefferson County Christian School Thursday-Saturday performances), and don’t forget the little ones with loads of library events and view a hellbender at the Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District office in Steubenville. Kite Flying Physics at SMART Centre Market in Wheeling is sure to be a kid-friendly activity.

We all like to find deals, so be sure to stop by the TCA Kids Consignment Sale in Weirton, Thursday-Saturday.

LEGO enthusiasts are getting their fair share of events. Read my article in this newsletter announcing the arrival of the traveling LEGO art exhibit in Pittsburgh and, if you like my Facebook Macaroni Kid page, you already know Bellaire’s Toy and Plastic Brick Museum opens in May. The events calendar also lists LEGO events at local libraries – search by category: LEGOS.

Of course, call ahead to be sure the event times haven’t changed – no one wants to arrive at a destination, only to be disappointed!

Click on the top menu bar EVENTS, then SUBMIT AN EVENT, to add your own listings to the Macaroni Kid calendar.

Enjoy another family-fun week!
